Chapter 13 The Guild of Witches

I woke up from dream unsure if it had even been real, moving bookshelves, and powerful supernatural creatures. I decided my circumstances were getting to me. Greyson asked me for help learning to drive and to be honest I was thankful for the distraction, I just wanted to do something normal.

Greyson was still distant and I didn't know how or even if I could pull him back. Jessi was my lovely girl, who played with Ash all day long if you let her.

However she had still not given up her dream of becoming a fairy. It was after Alexander and Alexandra had aged up into toddlers that I heard a knock at my door.

I answered it to find a fairy, the first one I had seen. My jaw almost dropped, until I saw Jessi standing behind him. "I found her searching for fairies in the forest, I thought I might bring her home," he explained to me.
My face hardened if Jessi keep doing this, she was going to get herself killed. "Jessi Butler go to your room, I'll talk to you later," I ordered.
Jessi looked once more at the fairy in awe before running inside. "Butler?" he questioned confused. "Yeah," I nodded.
"Then you must be Larnika Butler it is a true pleasure," he said kissing the back of my hand, "I am Carey Blanton(by beckles123 of the wood fairies," he introduced himself.
I really liked Carey and he agreed to go on a date with me the next night, however it took a little more convincing for him to father my next child. Apparently he didn't like changing from his small fairy form and leaving the woods, how would he be there for his child? I understood and I didn't push it, instead I asked for some fairy dust for Jessi who would love it.

However Carey changed his mind deciding he would be honored to father one of the children who would help restore the old order.
Ash and Jessi had their birthdays a couple of nights later and they both turned out beautiful.

(don't know how I didn't get a grown-up photo of him...its a mystery)

Jessi was amazing with the kids, I don't know how I would have survived without her and Leviticus help.

She was also the one to pull Greyson back to us and her and him were still quite close. Especially after we told them about Jessie, Greyson and her shared that love for him. Even though Greyson wanted to find his real father.

It was on a hot summers day near the end of the summer holidays that I got a letter in the mail for Ash Butler. I had never seen anything with a seal like it, but I presumed it was from his father that he was in regular contact with. It wasn't until he came running over to me that I realized I was wrong. "Guess what, guess what," he cried.
"What?" I asked smiling at his excitement.
"I've been apprenticed into the guild of witches," he declared.
The guild of witches like his father, I wasn't sure how to feel, "Umm I don't know what to say," I decided on.
"Mema," Ash complained, "can't we just take a look?" he asked.
"Fine," I agreed. "Thank you, thank you," he said his excitement brought back and I quickly gave him a hug.

The guild of witches seemed I didn't know the word, it was what I was expecting I guess. When we walked in their was one witch practicing his skills.

His face lit up when he saw us, "Larnika and Ash Butler welcome to the guild of witches. I am Salavador Parris," he said to us.

"Hello, its nice to met you," I replied looking around.
"I assume you would like a tour of our place and then talk about getting Ash set up here," he said to me. "Wait," Ash interrupted, "Mema isn't convinced yet."

Salavador smiled, "You are not yet convinced, come to my office so we can talk." We followed Salavador over to a bookshelf I wondered what he was doing until it opened, I gasped it brought my dream flooding back into my memory.

"Sorry for the clutter," he apologized as we walked in. He didn't have to for some reason it felt perfect and I felt safe here. We each took seats, "Now what questions do you have for me?" Salavador asked me. "Well first off this is meant to replace his schooling, I'm not sure if I'm okay with that," I admitted.

"The guild of witches is a school for witches as such we accommodate both normal classes and special classes," he explained.
I nodded, "Ash said that most witches become lifelong members of the guild, do you teach him dangerous things, I know you serve Luciano and Vincenzo."

Salavador frowned, "I wouldn't say serve, we each have the same interests and they are two of my best friends," he admitted I was about to interrupt but Salavador held up his hand. "You must understand I have never condoned what they have done but perhaps I understand them better than you, regardless those that serve with the guild of witches only serve the guildmaster who serves no one."

"Well whos that?" I asked cautious.
"I am, but you need not worry, Ash will only learn and continue as long as feels comfortable," he promised me.

I looked at him part of me wanted to say no but that’s because I thought I was putting him into danger. Yet I knew I was wrong, this is where Ash belonged where he could learn how to control his gift.
"Its up to Ash," I finally said.
Ash considered it for a while which surprised me, because I thought he would say yes straight away. When he did answer I saw something in his eyes that I had seen in Leviticus. His eyes looked older as if they had been through more things that I could possibly understand and it scared me. "Firstly I understand why you are hesitant to let me go Mema but whether you like it not the very fact that you are my mother demands that I become one of the most powerful witches and to make sure I don't use that for the wrong purposes I need to learn as much as possible about that, so yes I will join," he told us.

There it was again wisdom that did not belong to a five-year old maybe it was a witch thing? Ash did end up loving the guild of witches and he got his first broom which he loved scooting around in.

The signs of my pregnancy began to develop and I was lucky to have the kids help out with the twins.

Alexander was a real werewolf I caught him scratching my furniture, howling at the moon if it wasn't so concerning it would amuse me.

Leviticus was often out at nights, all he told me is he was trying to find something or someone who could make it. I wasn't entirely sure what he was up to, but I had a suspicion it had to do with Jessi.

Jessi and Greyson went to prom but Leviticus said he had something to do, I could only guess at what was more important. "Your father would be so proud of you," I told Jessi before she headed off.

They were crowned prom king and queen and Greyson got into a relationship with Fawn Goodfellow and Jessi with someone but she wouldn't tell me his name.

All Leviticus said to me was she was annoyed because he wasn't supernatural. I went into labor and welcomed my first fairy child, a girl named Aria Butler.

After that I took the age freeze potion that  Salavador had given me on my visit, I wasn't allowed to take it until I wasn't pregnant. I was a little nervous and didn't expect it to hurt, but I knew I had to do it.

My only regret was that I would outlive my human children.
