After the death of Jessie I was distraught and afraid. Rain tried to talk to me but I wanted her out, she had known about this. A few months later, I gave birth to Jessie's baby girl, who I named Jessi. As soon as we were out of the hospital, Rain called to tell me, Luciano and Vincenzo were relocating me to Moonlight Falls. I hung up the phone, knowing I had no choice. Only I wasn't sure what to expect when I arrived at Moonlight Falls, I had heard rumors about the town who hadn't. It wasn't till now I realized they were true, the supernatural fled to this place. My new house was huge with more room than I new what to do with.
Luciano and Vincenzo decided to give me a year to grieve Jessie and accept my fate. I suppose I should have been thankful, it was unlike them to be so kind. However the year seemed to pass to quickly and it wasn't long before we were celebrating Jessi's birthday.
I wasn't sure how to react when I didn't see any of Jessie in her, maybe it was a blessing that I wouldn't have to see him everyday. Leviticus took to Moonlight Falls, like a fish to water. He was no longer afraid of what he was, and loved talking to the other children about what it was like to be the first vampire child. He, like me, was a bit of a celebrity everyone was nice to me since it was my destiny to return them to their former state. Leviticus missed Jessie as much as me, I knew that. Sometimes he would just sit and talk with Carlos who had also become an adult cat, about things he used to talk to Jessie about.
I didn't know what to say to him about Jessie, Luciano told me he had explained it to him but who knows what he really told him.
Since the year had passed, I knew I had to find someone otherwise Luciano or Vincenzo would do it for me. I decided to visit the neighbor since in the first year I hadn't really been interested in socializing.
"I'm Peter Goodman," he introduced himself when he came out. "I'm Larnika," I replied but he just smiled.
"I know," is all he said. I almost hit myself, of course he knew everyone knew. I didn't know what to say because I wasn't exactly sure how to tell if he was a supernatural. "I'm a witch," he informed, "would you like to come in?" he asked.
I nodded, trying to work out if witches even counted. "You’re a witch here?" I questioned when we got inside. By the story I had been told, I didn't think they'd be that fond of witches.
Peter laughed, "Yeah, I was outcast for most of my life. The people in Moonlight Falls accepted me for what I was. I know you must think their bad but they're not all like Vincenzo and Luciano."
"You know them?" I asked.
"Everyone knows them, their the ruling two," he told me.
I coughed, "The ruling two?" I questioned.
Peter laughed again, "They really didn't tell you much. Luciano and Vincenzo were born from an immortal after the curse was placed. She had been pregnant with them when the witch did her work. It makes them a lot stronger than ordinary vampires and they founded Moonlight Falls, and most of the time supernatural creatures bow to them," he explained.
"Oh," I said, processing the information. It meant they had been alive for thousands of years, they all of a sudden got more scary.
"Anyway I've been really wanting to meet you, I've been working on an age freeze potion for you, so you can you know actually live through a hundred children. Well me and the rest of the guild of witches," he continued. "Why are witches even helping?" I suddenly asked, "I mean aren't you just going to go back to being a minority, ruled by the supernaturals?"
"Witches weren't as powerful as the rest of the supernatural creatures its true but it doesn't mean there weren't friendships. I mean you have to remember most of them were related to supernaturals. Also witches lost out when the curse was placed, they obtained special powers regarding the supernatural they were related. When the curse was placed their magic was focused, some are more skilled in certain areas but its not like it was. Also witches were part of the one hundred sacrificed as well," he explained to me.
"Wow," I muttered, "I guess she really screwed everyone over."
"Yeah she did," Peter agreed.
Despite my earlier worries, talking with Peter was easy and it was almost natural to progress to the next stage.
I was home in time to discover Leviticus had thrown a gift giving party for Snowflake Day, which was the next day. He invited, Luciano, Rain, and three friends from school. I tried my best to avoid Rain and Luciano trying to monitor my thoughts in the fears they would start reading them. Leviticus loved all his gifts except one, which was a prank from one of his school friends.
Greyson also had a birthday on Snowflake Day.
It was scary to think of him growing up so soon and I knew Jessi wouldn't be far behind. I was having tremendous trouble trying to teach her to walk but she loved to talk which reminded me a lot of her father.
Greyson and Leviticus quickly decided they were going to share a room, until Leviticus teen birthday, which surprised me because of how many spare rooms there were in the house.
I started to feel the symptoms of pregnancy and as I looked at my stomach all I hoped is that it developed magic.
