I recognized the symptoms early on this time, it was impossible not to. The nausea, the occasional food cravings, and my reactions to certain smells.
Unfortunately Carlos caught the blame for that one, as it was his fur that I couldn't stand.
I was pregnant, I wasn't sure how, and I didn't want a pregnancy test to confirm. That night I had been drugged and Watcher knows what else, had caused another tiny sim to grow inside me.
"Rain, what am I going to do?" I asked wearily, as if all this was to much for me.
Rain had just put Leviticus to bed and came out to see me. Rain looked at me, "It's a baby any baby is a blessing," she told me, seeming upset.
"I know that but its been only seven months since Leviticus has been born and I now have another baby to another father," I said to her, knowing that I should have remembered that Rain couldn't have children. Rain considered my words for a few minutes, "Look if that's bothering you, I think you should talk to Vincenzo about who the father is and then make sure justice is served for what he did."
"Rain, I'm raising a baby and I'm pregnant again, I can't handle a trial of something I don't remember happening," I argued, this new pregnancy was making me more tired than I ever imagined I could be. Unlike with carrying Leviticus who seemed to give me strength, this baby seemed to zap it.
"Luciano will take care of it," Rain said simply.
I was about to protest before I stopped, knowing that whoever had taken advantage of me was paying for what they done would give me relief and help me raise this baby with complete love. Besides I trusted Luciano he'd been there for me after it happened, whereas Vincenzo had merely sent a text.
"Okay, you speak to him about, I'll talk to Vincenzo," I agreed.
Rain wrinkled her nose at the mention of his name, "You met him in town, I don't want him near Leviticus," Rain ordered me.
"Rain," I started.
"I'm serious," Rain snapped.
I held my hands, "Okay, I'll meet him somewhere," I agreed, not having the energy to fight with Rain about.
Somewhere ended up being the Bistro, I made my way over their midday as Vincenzo did most of his work at night, leaving Leviticus with Luciano at work for the first time.
He had proven doubly to me that I could trust him and if he wanted Leviticus at work with him that was his choice.
"Larnika," Vincenzo greeted me, the way he said my name sending the familiar tingles up my back. "Vincenzo, long time no see," I replied coldly taking a seat opposite him. I couldn't afford to listen to my body this time.
Vincenzo smirked taking the seat opposite me, "I see this isn't a meeting of two friends, so what can I do for you Larnika?" he questioned me.
"The night I came to your party, you called Luciano and Rain to say I had left with somebody and you were worried about me, I need to know who it was," I told him.
"Why?" Vincenzo asked simply.
"Because I just do," I said to him, already feeling like this conversation was not going to go to plan. Vincenzo leaned forward a smile on his lips, "This wouldn't be because of another fit of nausea?" I narrowed my eyes, how did he even know that?
"It's none of your business," I snapped, my tiredness taking over my ability to stay calm.
Vincenzo leaned back, "Kai Leiko," Vincenzo said to me.
"Who's he?" I questioned, trying to figure out who this man was, who was responsible for my suffering. Vincenzo pulled out his phone showing me a picture, I gasped it was the man I had told Vincenzo I disliked.
"You knew I didn't like him," I accused Vincenzo.
Vincenzo shrugged, "He's much loved by the public, I thought he may have won you over. Besides I did call Luciano and Rainflower did I not?" he explained to me, making me somehow feel in the wrong.
I sighed, "I suppose you're right," I admitted.
"Larnika regardless of my attentions towards you, know that I am sorry for hurting you it truly had nothing to do with you," he told me and for the first time I seemed to hear actual sincerity in his voice.
I smiled, "Its okay, its not your fault. You've always been a good friend to me," I admitted, not wanting to fight with Vincenzo anymore.
Vincenzo took my hand in his, "I always liked to believe we were more than that," he said causing me to blush.
"Its complicated," I muttered.
"So uncomplicate it," he told me simply.
"I can't with Luciano and Rain," I argued and I saw Vincenzo's jaw clench at Luciano's name.
"Very well Larnika you are worth waiting for," Vincenzo said to me, but his words lacked the sincerity of before.
As soon as I told Rain who it was she was told me she would deal with it. I should have just left it but the more I researched Kai Leiko, the more sure I was that this wasn't going to get passed the courts. He was a loved celebrity, in a relationship with Lola Belle. I knew Luciano was powerful, but I doubted he was quite that powerful. Nevertheless I continued on with my life, and five months into my pregnancy it was time for Leviticus birthday I was excited to see who he'd take after and I invited both Luciano and Rain over. As I watched Rain help him blow out the birthday candles I smiled as he grew up
, my darling child was perfect and laying a comforting hand over my swollen stomach I knew the next one would be too.
